次女の高校最後のバンドライブ

次女の葵の高校生活最後のバンドライブへと行ってきた。なんだかんだで30人以上見にきてくれたようで、父としても嬉しかった。思い起こせば急にベースを弾きたいと言い出したのは中学3年生の時。最初はアンプもスタンドも付いて10000円の格安セットベースからのスタート。すぐに飽きるのかとおもいきや、学校でバンド仲間を募集していると聞いたのは2年半前、その後バンド仲間のギターの子のご両親と新しい本格的なベースを買いに行った。10万くらい？ほんとやるの？と少し不安だったが、結局きちんとバンドを組み、ドラムには学校の英語の先生も参加していただいていた。学校の文化祭でも2年の時と3年の時に演奏し、葵たちのバンドを見て後輩たちの中にもバンドを組む子達も現れたらしい。
うちの次女を見ていると、俺がやってみたかったが、やれなかったことをドンドンやっている。バンドも芸術大学へ行くことも、俺がやりたかったがやれなかった？いやそこまで本気でやることが出来なかったが正解だろう。次女はそれを全部本気でやれている。誰かが親は子に追い越されてなんぼや！」と聞いたことがある。多分うちの次女はもう俺をとうの昔に超えている。
だからこそ、この先ダサい親でもいられない、長女も東京で一所懸命仕事し生きているし、自分の娘達に負けないようにこれからも多少カッコつけて生きていこうと思う。そういえば俺もギターを買っていた。次女が家にいる間には一緒に弾くことが出来なかったが、次女の一人暮らしと共に俺も一人暮らしスタートしたので、少し弾いて練習しておこうと思う。
